Be the change

I remember waking up one morning when I lived in the snowy mountains with the 'knowing' that I had to change. At the time I was burnt out and run down from partying and running my own salon. 5 years living the work hard, play hard took it's toll. (lol, but I had so much fun, hahaha)
I set off on my morning walk through the hills and a voice in my head said, "you have to raise your energy." At the time I was somewhat healthy. Through the week I would take my vitamins and go to the gym, but then I would go on a 2-3 day bender over the weekend:)
It was time to change. When the body is stressed and run down, the mind reflects that as well. You can start to feel anxious, angry, agitated or even depressed.
Learning the discipline of yoga, meditation and Ayurvedic medicine (which is a cleansing system to create balance in mind, body and spirit using a specific cleansing process and diet), it helped me realise how interconnected we are to our environment and the foods/liquids we're consuming.
Everything has an energy, so if you're not 'feeling' the best, start to become aware of your diet, your daily habits and rituals, the people you're surrounding yourself with, the shows you're watching on TV, and even the thoughts you are thinking... they ALL play a part in your overall wellbeing.
Take a moment right now, close your eyes, take a deep breath in, and as you exhale completely let go and relax your body. Now start to visualise the person you wish to be, your higher self. What does she look like?, how does she feel? what is she doing? Where is she? Stay here for a few moments bringing all your senses into this visualisation practice...... then open your eyes.
Today, I want you to BE her! In everything you say and do, hold the vision of your higher self. It all starts within.
