MORNING RITUAL

When you rise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.     – Marcus Aurelius

Wake up before/with the sun- This will provide you with more energy, positivity and balance in mind body and spirit. You become more in tune with nature’s cycles which will improve mental clarity, digestion, and will generate self-esteem, discipline, peace, happiness and longevity.

Breath-work and meditation- Air/oxygen is the number one basic need for our survival, so it makes sense that we start our day with at least 10min of breath-work, followed by a further 10min of meditation focusing on the breath & tuning into your inner world. I like to light a candle/incense or both to invigorate the senses and to give meaning to my practice.

This will help:

  • Boost immunity
  • Process emotions, heal emotional pain and trauma
  • Develop or increase self-awareness
  • Enrich creativity
  • Improve personal and professional relationships
  • Increase confidence, self-image and self-esteem
  • Give you mental clarity
  • Boost energy levels

Hydrate- Water is the second most basic need for our survival. Drinking at least 1L of water first thing in the morning will help flush toxins from the body and hydrate cells and organs. Try adding 1tsp of Himalayan or Celtic salt to replace lost electrolytes during sleep.

Movement- 15- 20min of yoga, strength training, or simply a walk will help boost your metabolism, massage internal organs, flush out toxins as well as clear the mind. It’s a time to connect with your body.

Coffee/tea/read/journal- While I enjoy my hot cup of coffee, I like to either read, write in my journal, or do both. I love reading anything that will help me become a better person than I was yesterday.

I use my journal to help me process any negative emotions, use it as a gratitude journal, write down any insights/ideas that come to me in meditation, or simply to plan out my day/week.

Shower time- Water is very cleansing. Enjoy your shower, and maybe use this time to list all the things you are grateful for. You know what they say? Gratitude is the best attitude…

Breakfast- Food is the third basic need for our survival. Be mindful of what you feed your body. In yoga, they say to eat high pranic foods (which means life force).

Try eating fruits & wholefoods to give the body all the micronutrients it needs to produce more energy. What we fuel our bodies with MATTERS!

I hope this is a helpful tool for you to start implementing into your daily routine 😊

Loads of Love, light & epic vibes,
