How to re-program the mind

Have you ever wished your mind had a pause button? A simple button that gave you a break from the constant thoughts coming and going? I have, lol. 

Thoughts can trigger either a positive or negative emotion, which is why it is super important to be aware of the thoughts we are thinking. How do we do that? We meditate! 

Meditation is key for bringing awareness to the thoughts we are thinking, as well as the belief systems that are programmed within our minds. 

Studies have shown that negative thoughts, criticism and denial can create neural pathways in the brain that encourage sadness. These negative tendencies can cause the brain to distort the truth and make it even more difficult to break the negative cycle. 

During meditation, you form new neural connections associated with positive feelings. Then, as you continue to practice meditating and repeatedly engage with those positive emotions, you reinforce the pathways and make it easier to return to those emotions even when you are not meditating. 

We are not our thoughts, we are not our physical body, we are the awareness, the observer, and we have the power to rewire and transform ourselves!
