Letting go of who we think we are
Mar 10, 2022
"When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.
~Lao Tzu
We all have a preconceived idea of who we think we are. We identify ourselves as a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a hairdresser, a yoga teacher.... We identify ourselves as what we do, rather than seeing ourselves as pure potential with unlimited possibilities.
A great quote by Jack Kornfield says;
"The knowledge of the past stays with us. To let go is to release the images and emotions, the grudges and fears, the clinging's and disappointments of the past that bind our spirit."
Your self-perception is a mental construct and does not represent who you truly are. So what if we let go of the idea of who we think we are, and started to live life from a place of pure potential, limitless, and full of possibility.
In this weeks meditation in the Mindful Movement Membership we tap into the pause between the breath. Where the body is neither breathing in or out. It's in this space where pure potentiality exists, it is the ground of all being from which everything arises and falls.
Every breath, thought, action, behaviour, movement and event is birthed from this place.
As you move throughout your day, become aware of the pause between the breath, let go of who you think you are, and you just might become ALL that you were meant to be in this life.
Loads of Love,
