Movement Matters
Mar 03, 2022
I used to think that yoga was practiced on the mat...
But in actual fact, how we move our bodies throughout our day can also be our yoga practice. How we stand in line at the grocery store, to carrying our groceries inside, to hanging out the washing, to cleaning the house...
We can introduce Mindful Movement in every single thing that we do. Whilst waiting inline, take the awareness to the breath, planting your feet evenly into the floor and standing tall, lengthening the spine. Carrying the groceries inside, we can roll our shoulders back and down, drawing our belly in to protect the spine. When we hang out the washing, keep a tight core, steady the breath and consciously move the body as you hang each piece of clothing on the line. The same goes when cleaning the house, use it as a time for clearing and decluttering your space with conscious awareness.
The breath is the bridge between our physical body and spirit. Take your yoga practice off the mat and into your life. A shift in your perspective may be just the thing you need to transform your world.

“Yoga is not a work-out it is a work-in, and this is the point of spiritual practice to make us teachable to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are.”
Pain is part of the process of growth. Every experience shapes us, even the difficult ones. Each part of the journey has a purpose, and when we take responsibility for our healing, we rise stronger and more aligned.
