The Sagittarius Full Moon, 31 May 2026: What It Means and How to Work With the Energy

May 30, 2026

Quick thing before we start... this one's personal for me. I'm a Sagittarius myself (3rd of December baby), so when the full moon lands in my sign, I feel it in my bones. The restlessness, the big feelings, the itch for more room. I know this energy from the inside... So everything I'm about to share with you, I'm right here in it too.

You can't sit still, hey.

There's this buzz under your skin that just won't go away. Maybe you're snapping at the people you love. Maybe you're wide awake at 3am with your brain halfway around the world. Part of you wants to shake shit up a bit, reinvent yourself.

I mean... who even am I?, like actually. You have this feeling and you don't even know why.

If that's you this week, nothing's wrong with you. Your body's just picking up on something. A rhythm that's way older than all of us.

What's going on up there?

This Sunday — 31 May 2026, at about 6:44pm (AEST) the moon hits full right here in Oz. It'll come up low and golden in the east, just as the light fades. Worth stepping outside for! And, if you're a crystal lover like me, charge em up sisso!

This is a full moon in Sagittarius. It's also a blue moon, which just means it's the second full moon in the same month. Doesn't happen often, so it's kind of a big deal and it's got a bit of extra oomph to it.

It's also a busy one. This moon's sitting smack opposite the Sun and Uranus, the planet that loves a curveball so things feel a bit electric and unpredictable right now. But underneath all that, there's Jupiter (Sagittarius's planet) sitting in soft, feely Cancer. So you've got fire wanting to take off, and a tender heart underneath it. Both going at once. Crazy right?

And look, you don't have to be into astrology for any of this to make sense. Your body's got its own rhythms anyway. (coz we're extensions of nature remember?) This is just one way of tuning into those rhythms.

So what does it actually mean?

A full moon is always a peak. The light's at its biggest, and so is whatever you've had bubbling away inside. Stuff comes up. Feelings you'd been holding down. Things you knew but were too flat-out to look at. Full moons aren't for starting things, they're for seeing clearly, and letting go of what's done.

Sagittarius is the wanderer. It's the part of you that needs room to breathe, needs things to mean something, needs the truth. It's the fire that wants anything that doesn't serve you anymore to go.  The belief, the role, the old story you've grown out of but kept wearing anyway.

So here's how it actually feels. That restlessness? That itch to run? That's your body revving up, energy building, looking for somewhere to go. Uranus just turns the volume up: wired, all over the shop, can't land. But the Jupiter-in-Cancer bit underneath is the soft part. The one that doesn't really want to run away at all. It wants to be met. Held. Cuddled, and told that everything is ok.

That's the push-and-pull of this one. Bit of you wants to bolt. Bit of you wants to feel. And your body, stuck in the middle, doesn't always know which way to go. It's not random. You're not "too much." You're just carrying a lot, under a sky that's nudging you to put some of that shit down already.

How to work with it

A full moon is a letting-go moon. You don't have to make some massive leap on Sunday night. No quitting, no setting fire to shit and burning it all down. (Although setting fire to shit is fun) The Sagittarius fire likes to be honoured slow. Here's a few gentle ways to go with it.

Move first. Before you try to sit still, let that restless energy out. Go for a walk as the sun sets. Shake your body out. Have a little sway on the grass. Dance like a dork in the kitchen. You can't think your way out of all that buzzy energy, you've got to let it move through you first. Then it's way easier to settle.

Name what doesn't serve you anymore for your highest and greatest good. Sagittarius asks: what truth have I been dodging? What old story about myself have I outgrown? Grab a pen and write it down. The thing you're ready to stop dragging around. You don't have to sort it out. Just name it.

Then breathe it out. Read back what you wrote. Big slow breath in, and a longer breath out. Try to make the out-breath about twice as long as the in. That long exhale is what tells your body it's safe to relax. Do it a few times. Let the words go with the breath. Nothing fancy. Just letting go.

Let yourself feel it. If something comes up like grief, anger, a wave of something you can't even name, let it move. That urge to run is usually just a feeling that hasn't been allowed out yet. You're allowed.

Then rest. Don't pack the rest of the night with stuff to do. Let whatever you worked out settle in overnight. Big realisations need somewhere soft to land.

And if you can, pop outside and stare at the moon before bed. Stand on the ground for a sec. Let your body remember it's part of something way bigger and steadier than the noise in your head.

And if you're not up for that just yet, the Phoenix Rising Podcast is a free spot to start where I take you along my own experiences and healing journey.

You don't have to run off anywhere this weekend. The horizon Sagittarius keeps pointing at? It's not out there. It's the one inside you, the truth your body's been holding onto, just waiting for a moment like this to put it down.

Come home to it slow. No rush. Your body already knows the way.

Loads of Love,
