we move with the moon now

Twice a month we gather. A New Moon Gathering and a Full Moon Gathering.

The other weeks we practise as we always have.

7:30pm AEDT · one hour · cameras on · recorded, always

a calendar that has something to do with something

For a while our sessions ran on a Sunday because it was a Sunday. No reason beyond that.

The older I get, the less I want to live like that.

Your body already knows the difference between a new moon and a full one, even if you have never given it a name. The pull. The sleeplessness. The weeks where everything surfaces at once, and the weeks where nothing does.

Seasonal living is not a trend. It is how people organised themselves for a very long time, before we started pretending we sat outside all of it.

So we are letting the sky hold the calendar.

two gatherings. different weather, different practice.

The New Moon Gathering. The dark of the moon. Quiet, inward, slow.

We settle the nervous system, we listen, and we name one thing without making a plan about it. Longer stillness. Less movement. For the weeks you need to stop before you start anything.

The Full Moon Gathering. Everything lit up, including what you would rather not look at.

More movement, more breath, more release. A practice for when feeling is close to the surface and needs somewhere to go. For the weeks you are full and do not know where to put it.

nothing has been taken away

We still gather every week. Two of those four weeks are simply becoming something with more shape.

The in between weeks stay exactly as they are. One hour. Breath, gentle movement, stillness. Nothing to prepare for, nothing to know beforehand.

And the library is always there. For the 3am nights and the tight jaw mornings, whenever they land.

how a gathering runs

  • Time. 7:30pm AEDT, every gathering. The day moves with the moon. The time never does.
  • Cameras on. We see each other. That is what makes this a gathering and not a video.
  • Audio off while we are recording. It keeps the recording clean, and it means you can settle without worrying about the noise at your end.
  • Time to talk before and after. Come early, stay on afterwards. Those parts are never recorded.
  • Recorded, always. If you cannot be there live, you have not missed it.
  • What to bring. Somewhere to sit or lie down. Something warm. That is all.
  • No preparation. You do not need to know anything about the moon to be here.
