Full Moon in Taurus October 2026: Putting Down What Isn't Yours to Carry
Oct 25, 2026
You know the feeling. The kids are finally asleep, the kitchen's done, and your body still won't relax. Your shoulders are up near your ears. You're lying in the dark, and your mind is running through every worry you have, and/or everyone else's problems like they're yours to solve.
If that's been you lately, this full moon has something to say about it.
What's happening in the sky…
The full moon in Taurus lands at 3:12pm AEDT on Monday 26 October 2026. That's 12:12pm in Perth and 2:12pm in Queensland.
The Moon sits in Taurus, the Sun sits opposite in Scorpio, and Pluto squares them both from Aquarius.
Two planets are also travelling backwards. Venus has been retrograde since 3 October, and Mercury turns retrograde on 24 October. Both turn direct around 13 November.
A quick note before you go and blow your life up after reading this….. I use the moon and astrology the way I'd use the tide: as a rhythm to listen to, and flow with…not as a rigid forecast.
What the Taurus full moon means…
Every full moon is a peak. The light is at its fullest, so whatever's been quietly building gets seen.
Taurus is earth. It's the body, the senses, warm food, rest, and the things we value enough to keep. Scorpio, on the other side of the sky, is depth. It's everything we hold for other people. The grief, the worry, the hard stories that get handed to us because we're the safe one.
So this full moon sits right on a question most of us avoid.
What am I carrying that isn't mine to carry?
Pluto squaring the moon turns up the pressure. Pluto is about power and control, and the things we hold with a white-knuckle grip. You might notice where you've been keeping something together by sheer force. A role. A relationship. A routine that only works if you never stop.
And with Venus and Mercury both retrograde, this isn't the moment for big new decisions. It's a moment for honest review.
What you might notice in your body…
The moon doesn't cause what you feel. But a full moon can turn the volume up on what your body's already holding.
This week you might notice:
- Tiredness that sleep doesn't touch
- A strong pull towards comfort: food, blankets, staying home
- Resentment you didn't know was there, especially around giving
- Old conversations or money worries coming back around
None of this means something's wrong with you. It's information. Your body has been keeping count of what you give and what comes back, and it's asking to be heard.
How to work with the energy
Taurus doesn't release through thinking. It releases through the body. So keep it simple, and keep it physical.
Get your feet on the ground. Bare feet on grass, sand or earth for five minutes. Let your weight drop into your heels. Breathe out longer than you breathe in.
Eat one meal slowly. No phone. Notice the warmth, the taste, your jaw softening as you chew. This is care for your nervous system, not a diet tip.
Ask the question by hand. Write it on paper: What am I carrying that isn't mine? Write one line back. Don't solve it. Just let it be seen.
Put one thing down. A task, a commitment, an object, a yes you didn't mean. Taurus likes a release you can touch. One thing is enough.
Review, don't decide. If something about money, work or a relationship is surfacing, write it down and sit with it. With Venus and Mercury retrograde, give yourself until mid November before you make anything big or permanent.
Go to bed early. Rest is the most Taurus thing you can do. It counts.
๐ญWill this actually make a difference?
I hear you…. You've probably tried a lot of things that promised more than they gave.
You don't have to believe in astrology for any of this to help. The moon is just a reminder to stop and check in. What does the “work” is the noticing, and the small physical acts of letting something go.
Done regularly, small things change how a body feels. Not overnight, and not in a straight line. But your body knows how to come home. It's been waiting for you to slow down long enough to listen.
